Kevin Bordewick
Coach Bordewick is beginning his 13th year as the head volleyball coach at Washburn Rural, after spending two years as the junior varsity coach. Bordewick began his teaching career at 1A Randolph-Blue Valley, where he was the assistant football, assistant boy's basketball, and assistant track coach for two years before becoming the head volleyball, head girl's basketball, and head girl's track coach in his final three years there. He was named the head boy's basketball coach at 3A Oskaloosa for two years and was also the freshman volleyball coach for one year. Bordewick came to Washburn Rural in the fall of 1993. He has also been the girl's assistant basketball coach since he arrived and was the assistant softball coach his first year at Rural. Bordewick teaches Honors Anatomy and Physiology and General Anatomy and earned his Master's Degree in 2002.
Nikki Noe
Coach Noe became the junior varsity volleyball coach in the fall of 2003 and is entering her fifth season at Washburn Rural. She enjoyed a stellar career at Rural where she was a member of a varsity team that placed 4th and 2nd at the State Tournament. Noe is a student at Washburn University where she is studying psychology and education. She is also active in coaching club volleyball teams during the winter.
Rita Stuewe
Coach Stuewe continues with the Blues coaching staff after joining the WRHS faculty. Stuewe is beginning her second year after coaching summer volleyball and basketball teams. Stuewe is the social worker at WRHS and WRMS. She earned her Master's Degree in 2004.
Tara Griffith
Coach Griffith begins her 6th season as the Freshman Coach. Griffith got her coaching start at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas where she served as the assistant softball coach and resident assistant. After spending two years at Neosho, Griffith relocated to Topeka to take a teaching job at Washburn Rural High School. In addition to coaching volleyball, Griffith is also an assistant softball coach. Griffith's teaching duties include chemistry and advanced placement chemistry.
