Video of WRHS football games
as far back as 1958 are available.

WR does not make it a practice to include business links on the school’s web site.

However in the spring of 2007 the AW Board of Education approved an agreement with a web business site called Old School You.

Old School You is a business venture of Brian Richter from Sterling, Kansas. Brian is a teacher in Sterling public schools.

The AW Board of Education approved an administrative request to provide >oldschoolyou.com< with school owned property (old football game films and tapes).
Richter then converted the old reel-to reel tapes and video tapes into DVD’s. Some of the film footage dates back to 1958. The majority of full seasons of football games spans the periods of 1975 – 2002.

In exchange for the school receiving a complete DVD library of their football games at no cost, the Board agreed to have Brian make available, as a service to our alums and our community, school film now converted to DVD’s. Any DVD can be purchased for a reasonable price of $14.99 / per disc.

An example of what Brian has available on Old School You would include the 1985 State Championship victory over Wichita Kapaun and several other DVD’s of all the individual games from that season. In the late ‘80’s the football program began utilizing video tapes and the DVD’s from those years have multiple games on each disc.

While Brian does not solicit business on his own, we encourage anyone with interest in not only OUR football program but possibly individuals whose high schools would have competed with Rural to check out what is available at OLD SCHOOL YOU.
