Bobby Bovaird Head Coach (2nd year) |
Fourth year as Head Coach… previously served as Assistant Coach at WRHS for two years and also at Baldwin High School… has coached 45 state qualifiers, 14 state medalists, and 3 state champions in 10 years of coaching… as a competitor, medaled twice at the state tournament, placing 6th as a junior at 152 lbs. and 4th as a senior at 152 lbs... competed for Team Kansas at the 1997 Junior National Tournament and represented Team Kansas in the 1998 Metro Classic All-Star Dual... was a First-Team All-City Selection, Academic All-American and All-State, and Centennial League Champion... also a varsity letter winner in soccer, 1st chair string bass in orchestra, and member of StuCo... attended Baker University and graduated Cum Laude... teaches English at WRHS… Coach Bovaird and his wife Emily, WRHS Wrestling's #1 fan, are expecting their first child in April. |

Shannon Keller Assistant
Coach (4th year) |
This is Coach Keller's sixth year as a WRHS assistant coach… prior to coming to WRHS, he taught for three years in northwest Kansas, and spent five years at Chase Middle School in Topeka, where he served as a wrestling coach… he grew up in the tradition-rich wrestling community of St. Francis, KS, where he wrestled under Coach Larry Gable, and he graduated from Kansas State University in December of 1994... he currently teaches Earth Science and Biology at WRHS... Coach Keller has been married to wife Shelly for 12 years and they have two daughters, Jessa and Josi. |

Chris Daniels Assistant Coach (1st year) |
Third year as an assistant coach at WRHS… spent several semesters volunteering at Hoover High School and Southeast Polk High School in Des Moines, Iowa, where he worked with three state placers, one a champion, and two Iowa Coaches of the year… while attending Drake University he was a three-year starter at Defensive End and Nose Guard for the Bulldogs… as a player he was named to ESPN The Magazine’s First Team Academic All-American University Division I-AA Football team… represented Drake at the 2005 NCAA Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida… as a student he majored in Education with endorsements in Social Studies and Coaching and graduated with a 3.77 GPA… has been involved in the sport of wrestling since the age of four… wrestled for the Olathe East Hawks, qualifying for state three years and placing fifth as a senior… earned a spot in Coach Eric Krause’s “Century Club”… most of his family lives in Missouri, and his fiancée teaches elementary art at Pauline South and Pauline Central. |

Patrick Schultes Assistant Coach (1st year) |
Third year as an assistant coach at WRHS… a graduate of Silver Lake High School, where he began wrestling in 7th grade and qualified for state as a senior… attended the University of Kansas, where he received his BA in Biology in 1999… his first teaching assignment was at Dodge City Middle School where he taught 7th and 8th Grade science on the Bilingual Team for three years and served as the head JV coach for the Dodge City wrestling team… Is in his second year at WRHS, teaching Anatomy and Physiology and Biology… his hobbies include reading, karate, and jiu-jitsu… Coach Schultes and his wife Maria have been married since May 2008. |
