The Final Project:

The assignment was to create a research quality web site on a topic that students in grades 6 – 9 might be assigned by a teacher. These sites should provide a depth and quality of information that would make them a viable research resource for 6th – 9th grade students. The design consideratons were left open. Students were to use whatever design elements/skills they learned to create a design that supported their content.

Third HTML Project: Using Tables to layout the elements of a web page. Because browsers love tables. Yes, it looks just like HTML 2…..didn’t want to re-invent the wheel….just find an easier way to layout a page.

Second HTML Project: Using Image align tag to format / layout web page

First HTML Project – Create a basic web page using notepad to write html code. Required elements: Background texture or color (subtle), align text (center, left and right) horizontal rule, text variety (size and color), picture, 2 http links (1 text and one picture), 1 mail link, Blockquote.

MS Word Project – Use Microsoft Word to make a basic web page. There are 3 purposes to this activity. One is to explore the strengths and weaknesses of MS Word as a tool for creating a quick and easy web page. The second is to experiment with basic design. The third is to experiment with HTML friendly design concepts.
