Quote: Like most
professional educators, I got in this business because its rewarding to help
kids. As school administrators we often have to assign consequences for the
poor choices students make. From my view this is a process that very much can
help kids. It helps them assume responsibilities for their actions.
Unfortunately, many people learn best by experiencing negative consequences -
they learn from the school of hard knocks. But if the experiences, however
unpleasant, help students grow into more responsible citizens we all benefit
from the efforts.
