These directions are for winter 2005-2006 and were sent by Onaga High School—

 

DETOUR DIRECTIONS:

This will save you 1 1/2 hours and several miles.

 

If you are coming from the western side of Onaga, you will run into a detour when Hwy 16 runs into Hwy 63.  DO NOT GO SOUTH, instead go north into Havensville, turn west on the Havensville Road (located directly in front on the old school house),  follow the Havensville Road (watch for deer) until it runs into the Onaga Road.  Turn left (south) and follow into town.  Turn left (east) on Fifth Street and you will be at OHS. 

 

Bus Drivers:  Let the students out on the east side of the school (back).  Students and coaches will need to check into the PASS GATE entry on this side.  Park in the bus parking area.  Thanks.

 

Via High 75 to Holton

Go north to Holton.  Turn west (left) at the light on #75 in Holton.  This is highway #16.  Continue west on Highway #16 for approximately 18 miles to the junction of highways 16 and 63.  Turn north (right) and continue for one mile to the “T” junction of #63 and #16.  Turn west (left)  and continue for approximately 6 miles.  You will see Onaga and the signs marking the entrances to the town.  Main street is actually named Leonard Street, and the high school is two blocks east of Leonard Street on 5th Street.

 

Via I-70 and Highway #24

Go west to the Rossville exit.  Go north to Rossville after passing through Willard and crossing the Kansas river.  At Rossville, turn west (left) at the light on Highway #24.  Go west to St. Mary’s, then turn north in St. Marys at the marked junction of #24 and #63.  Go north for approximately 22 miles to the west turn described above at the “T” intersection of #16 and #63.  Turn west (left) there and proceed as explained above.
