It was 1976 and many
things were happening in the world. It was the 200th birthday of our
country, Jimmy Carter was elected president, Bruce Jenner was the decathlon
winner and 14 year old Nadia Comaneci scored seven perfect 10s in the summer
Olympics. Popular movies were Rocky,
Taxi Driver, Network and All the President’s Men. There were still drive-in
movies. The Record of the year was “Love Will Keep Us Together” by Captain and
Tennille, Album of the year was Paul Simon’s “Still Crazy After All of These
Years”. (And then “Album” of the year was really was an album). We listened to
“Lyin’Eyes” by the Eagles and the Best Pop Instrumental Performance at the
Grammys was “The Hustle”. We watched “The Waltons,
It’s time to get together and reminisce about the “Good
