WRHS Class of 1976

30 year Reunion

September 1 & 2, 2006

It was 1976 and many things were happening in the world. It was the 200th birthday of our country, Jimmy Carter was elected president, Bruce Jenner was the decathlon winner and 14 year old Nadia Comaneci scored seven perfect 10s in the summer Olympics.  Popular movies were Rocky, Taxi Driver, Network and All the President’s Men. There were still drive-in movies. The Record of the year was “Love Will Keep Us Together” by Captain and Tennille, Album of the year was Paul Simon’s “Still Crazy After All of These Years”. (And then “Album” of the year was really was an album). We listened to “Lyin’Eyes” by the Eagles and the Best Pop Instrumental Performance at the Grammys was “The Hustle”. We watched “The Waltons, Chico and the Man and the Mary Tyler Moore Show”. But best of all we were all graduating from High School, packing up our belongings to attend college and beginning our lives in the REAL WORLD.

It’s time to get together and reminisce about the “Good old days”. Join us on Friday night September 1, 2006 for a tailgate party before the Washburn Rural football game. Then on Saturday September 2, 2006 our classmates and spouses will be getting together for dinner at the Jayhawk Tower.
