Building and Industrial Trades

·         Building Mechanics- The Building Mechanics curriculum begins with a group of core mini courses (540 total hours): Electrical Theory, Basic Wiring, Introduction to Programmable Logic & Motor Controls, and Introduction to Heating and Air-Conditioning. The second 540 hours provides training in plumbing and carpentry to complement the training received in the core courses. Upon completion of this program, students will be prepared to access opportunities for employment in the maintenance and construction of hospitals, motels, apartment complexes, schools and other businesses requiring these skills. 1080 Hours. 11, 12, Adult.

·         Commercial Electricity- The Commercial Electricity curriculum begins with a group of core mini courses (540 total hours): Electrical Theory, Basic Wiring, Introduction to Programmable Logic & Motor Controls, and Introduction to Heating and Air-Conditioning. The second 540 hours includes instruction in the installation of electrical wiring and fixtures, study of the National Electrical Code, transformers and distribution panels. Students completing this course of study will be prepared for employment in electrical construction and maintenance. 1080 Hours. 11, 12, Adult.

·         Heating and Air-Conclitioning- The Heating and Air-Conditioning curriculum begins with a group of core mini courses (540 total hours): Electrical Theory, Basic Wiring, Introduction to Programmable Logic & Motor Controls, and Introduction to Heating and Air-Conditioning. The second 540 hours offers instruction in safety; blueprint reading; gas-pipe fitting; the Uniform Mechanical Code; hydronic, electric and gas heating; heat pumps; and advanced training in the areas of residential and commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning. Students completing this program will be prepared for employment in any of the many industries utilizing heating, air-conditioning, and/or refrigeration. 1080 Hours. 11, 12, Adult.

·         Industrial Maintenance- The Industrial Maintenance curriculum begins with a group of core mini courses (540 total hours): Electrical Theory, Basic Wiring, Introduction to Programmable Logic & Motor Controls, and Introduction to Heating and Air-Conditioning. The second 540 hours provides training for students seeking employment in industrial maintenance as well as currently employed maintenance technicians who seek to upgrade their skills. The following jobs are representative of those that may be available following completion of this course: Maintenance Mechanic, Rubberizing Mechanic, Conveyor Maintenance Mechanic, and Machine Repair-Maintenance. 1080 Hours. 11, 12, Adult.
