Barton School of Business Scholarship

Competition

Up to 60 academically talented students pursuing a Bachelor of Science Administration degree with a major in accounting, business administration, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, human resource management, international business, management information systems, or marketing will be invited to participate in this competition.  Student must be admitted to Wichita State by October 10, 2008.

Masonic Grand Lodge of AF&AM of

Kansas Essay Contest

Essay for Juniors and Seniors attending a Kansas tax-supported public high school is eligible.  Essays shall be limited to a minimum of 300 and a maximum of 500 words on the topic, “Do positive role models exist in today’s society?  Explain.”

2009 Horatio Alger Scholarship

Applicant who has demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to contribute to society is eligible for this scholarship.  Online application may be obtained at www.horatioalger.org/scholarships.

Coca-Cola Scholarship

Robert C. Byrd Scholarship

Students who have a GPA of 3.85; have a composite score of 32 or more on the ACT assessment; scheduled to graduate during the 2008-2009 school year; be a citizen of the U.S.; and plan to apply for enrollment in a institution of higher education are eligible for this scholarship.

Kansas Board of Regents Vocational Education Scholarship

Vocational Education Program  provides financial assistance to full-time students who enroll in designated one or two-year vocational programs.  To apply for this scholarship, applicant must be a Kansas resident, a graduate from an accredited high school (or received a GED), plan to enroll full time (12 credit hours) in a designated vocational program in Kansas, and take the designated  vocational scholarship test.  For application and more information go to: http://www.kansasregents.org/financial_aid/awards.html.

B-Street Design School of International Hairstyling

Kansas State Department of Education and Kansas Highway Patrol School Safety Hotline Scholarship Contest

The contest is comprised of three categories:  (1) a 30 second public service announcement for television; (2) a 30 second public service announcement for radio; and (3) an 11 X 17 poster.

Jack Dresslar KIAAA (Athletic) Scholarship

Applicant must be a senior attending a Kansas State High School Activities Association member school and plan on attending an accredited college or trade school after graduating from high school.  Applicant must have participated in two sports for two years in each sport and must have earned at least one varsity letter in each of two sports.

NFIB Young Entrepreneur Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior entering his or her freshman year at an accredited two-or-four-year university, college, or vocational institute in the fall of 2009.  Student must demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit and initiative through examples such as: starting his/her own business; participating in organizations such as DECA, Junior Achievement, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Future Farmers of America (FFA), National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), among others; or through other initiatives.  Students are encouraged to mention any endeavors or work experiences offered as community service.  Additional information is available at www.NFIB.com/YEA.

AXA  Achievement Scholarship

Kansas Correctional Association Scholarships

The purpose of these scholarships is to provide financial assistance to students pursuing academic goals which will prepare them for a career in the corrections/criminal justice field, or a related social/behavioral sciences field.  Applicants must be a Kansas resident to be eligible.
