Personal Guidance

As part of a comprehensive guidance program, The Guidance Department at Washburn Rural High School offers personal and social counseling to students. Student concerns ranging from interpersonal relationships to conflict resolution skills, from self-esteem formation to identity resolution are all addressed in personal guidance. Both individual and group counseling are available to students.

Students are encouraged to go to the counselor to which they are assigned if they have a problem they need to discuss with someone. Confidentiality will be maintained except when there is a threat to the safety of either the student or another person.

Group counseling is available periodically during the school year on a variety of topics. Counselors also go into classrooms to offer presentations to students on a variety of topics.
