Coach Bill Annan
Coach
Annan is starting his 22nd year of coaching. He has spent the last 17 years
at WRHS as the head girls coach. Coach Annan also spent from 1986-1991 at Topeka-Seaman
High School as the JV boys coach. While under Coach Annan's leadership the
Lady
Blues have won the State Tournament in 1996 and 1999; Sub-State Championships
in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2007; and League Champions in 1995,
1996,
1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, and 2005.
Assistant
Coach Kevin Bordewick
Coach Bordewick is beginning his 15th year as the junior varsity
coach at Washburn Rural. Bordewick began his teaching career at 1A Randolph-Blue
Valley, where he was the assistant football, assistant boy's basketball, and
assistant track coach for two years before becoming the head volleyball, head
girl's basketball, and head girl's track coach in his final three years there.
He was named the head boy's basketball coach at 3A Oskaloosa for two years
and
was also the freshman volleyball coach for one year. Bordewick came to Washburn
Rural in the fall of 1993.
Assistant
Coach Michael Wahlmeier
Coach Wahlmeier is starting his 8th year of coaching. He
began coaching at Trego Community High School where he coached the Golden
Eagle freshman boys’ team. After two years at the WaKeeney Middle
School as an assistant, he moved on to coach the Lady Leopard Cubs of LaCrosse
Middle School. Mr. Wahlmeier served as the assistant last year for the 9th
grade team and will be the head coach this season.
