I have been in education, in some form, for over 20 years. I have been at the high school level for 16 years and at Washburn Rural specifically for 12 years. I taught speech and theater at the college level for 4 years.

I grew up in Kansas City and went to high school at Shawnee Mission West in Overland Park where I graduated in 1985.

I am married to my beautiful wife Donna and we have three children; Jake, a senior in high school, Josh, an 8th grader, and Rachel, who is in 5th grade.
